Individualised cosmetic consultations

At Wrinkle Whisperer, we provide cosmetic appearance consultations for clients who would like to discuss facial ageing, facial balance, skin quality, and general appearance-related concerns.

A consultation is the first step before any cosmetic procedure is considered. Your practitioner will take the time to understand your concerns, medical history, expectations, lifestyle factors, and suitability before discussing any available options.

Cosmetic procedures are not suitable for everyone. No treatment is recommended without an individual consultation and clinical assessment.

What can be discussed during consultation?

During your appointment, your practitioner may discuss concerns such as:

  • Facial ageing changes
  • Expression-related lines
  • Facial balance and proportions
  • Skin quality and texture
  • Facial symmetry
  • General rejuvenation goals
  • Concerns around the upper, mid or lower face
  • Suitability for cosmetic procedures
  • Risks, recovery and aftercare
  • Alternative options, including not proceeding with treatment

Treatment options are only discussed after an individual assessment. Some options may involve prescription-only medicines and can only be considered after appropriate assessment and prescribing by an authorised practitioner.

What happens during the consultation?

Your consultation may include:

  • Discussion of your concerns and goals
  • Review of your medical history
  • Review of allergies, medications and previous procedures
  • Facial assessment
  • Discussion of suitability
  • Discussion of possible risks and recovery
  • Discussion of alternatives
  • Discussion of costs and expected maintenance
  • Aftercare guidance
  • Opportunity to ask questions before making a decision

There is no obligation to proceed with treatment on the day. Some clients may be advised that treatment is not suitable, or that treatment should be delayed.

Suitability

Suitability is assessed individually. Your practitioner will consider your health history, skin condition, facial anatomy, expectations, and the reason you are seeking treatment.

Cosmetic procedures may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection or inflammation, certain allergies, bleeding or healing concerns, some medical conditions, recent cosmetic or dental procedures, or expectations that cannot be safely or realistically met.

Your practitioner may recommend delaying treatment, seeking medical clearance, or considering alternative options where appropriate.

Risks and recovery

Cosmetic procedures are medical procedures and carry potential risks.

Possible risks may include redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, discomfort, asymmetry, infection, delayed healing, allergic reaction, unwanted cosmetic outcome, and the need for review or further treatment.

Rare but serious complications can occur. These will be discussed during consultation before any procedure is considered.

Recovery and aftercare vary depending on the procedure and individual response. Some clients may need to avoid exercise, heat exposure, alcohol, facial massage, makeup, or certain activities for a period of time after treatment.

Individual results and recovery vary. No outcome can be guaranteed.

Prescription-only medicine statement

Some cosmetic options may involve prescription-only medicines. These are not advertised as treatments on this website and can only be considered after appropriate consultation, assessment, and prescribing by an authorised practitioner, in accordance with applicable Australian and Queensland requirements.

Queensland requirements

In Queensland, some cosmetic options may involve Schedule 4 prescription-only medicines. These medicines are regulated under Queensland medicines and poisons legislation.

Where prescription-only medicines are involved, they must be prescribed, supplied, stored and administered in accordance with Queensland requirements. Your practitioner will discuss the appropriate pathway during consultation where relevant.

Preparation guidance

Before your appointment, please tell your practitioner if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have allergies
  • Have an active infection or inflammation
  • Take prescription or over-the-counter medicines
  • Take blood-thinning medication, aspirin, anti-inflammatory medication or supplements
  • Have had recent dental, facial, cosmetic or medical procedures
  • Have a history of poor healing, scarring, fainting or adverse reactions
  • Have any medical condition that may affect treatment suitability

Do not stop prescribed medication unless advised by your doctor.

Aftercare guidance

If treatment is provided, your practitioner will give you aftercare instructions specific to your procedure.

General aftercare may include avoiding strenuous exercise, heat exposure, alcohol, facial massage, certain skincare products, makeup, or pressure on the treated area for a period of time.

You will be advised when to contact the clinic if you experience unexpected symptoms or concerns.
